Our own (virtual) reality

Poem about unrequited love

We never meant for anything to happen
but it happened
it just did

Layers and layers of things unfolded
hard like a downpour
and we’re dancing in it
like we didn’t care

Our sky, our air, our clouds
were never met
But we knew we had a place
only the two of us can find

We existed in our own time
our own space
our own reality

My morning was your night
my noon was your morning
my night was your evening

As if I was in the future and you’re in the past
But we were very much present
right there
right then
